- Women aged 21-35 will generally need one every 3 years,
- Women aged 35 to 65 will generally need one every 5 years.
There’s a vaccine which helps prevent cervical cancer. The vaccine which covers the most strains is Gardasil. Young persons as old as 9 can get the vaccine.
Doctors recommend both men and women to get the vaccine. This prevents infecting each other with the HPV virus, which in turn, can cause cancer.
