[MUSIC PLAYING] Doctor Puja:
Hi, Doctor Puja here, let’s continue to Think Healthy! Today, I want to talk to you about hearing loss & dementia.
If you feel like you’re having a hard time hearing, it’s time to take action. I want you to know that mild hearing loss doubles your chances of developing dementia! And, severe hearing loss increases that risk by 5 times!
That’s huge!
So, the thing is, we don’t really know why hearing loss is connected to dementia at such a high rate.
But, the good news here is: getting the correct hearing aid can actually help reduce the risk of developing dementia. So, if you catch yourself saying my hearing isn’t as good as it used to be, it may be worth your time to make an appointment with your doctor or audiologist.
There’s more information on my website. Until next time, I’m Doctor Puja.
