Hi, Bannister here. Let’s continue to Think Healthy! Today we’re going to talk about one of those lesser known reasons for hair loss.
So, it really sucks when we start losing our hair, but we need to keep in mind that hair loss could actually be a symptom of some underlying conditions.
Dr. Uppal:
So, one of the major reasons for hair loss, this includes your head, your eyebrows, and your eyelashes is that your thyroid gland may not be working properly.
When we have low thyroid hormones in our blood, this can cause our hair to be stuck in the shedding cycle. So, the longer your thyroid hormones remain sub-optimal, it’s more likely that you will continue to see hair loss.
Bannister Wolfe: Now of course there are other reasons as to why you may be losing your hair. But for you to begin sorting things out, you’re going to need to take a blood test and determine what your thyroid profile actually looks like.
