Transcript Below: Hi Bannister here, let’s continue to Think Healthy!

Today, we’re going to talk about drinking lots of coffee and ADHD. Yep, there’s a connection.

Dopamine actually improves our concentration.

Doctor Puja: Coffee actually increases the amount of dopamine in our brain. And this is why we feel that we can concentrate better after drinking lots of coffee.

Bannister: That was Doctor Puja. So if you find yourself drinking more than three cups of coffee a day, you may be using coffee as a way to self-medicate an undiagnosed ADHD situation.

Doctor Puja: “This doesn’t apply to everybody, but if you or your loved ones are drinking coffee way more than normal, it may be worth taking the time to talk to your doctor and determine if you need an ADHD screening test.”

Bannister:

So, now you know that dopamine, coffee, ADHD are all related.
